Atol Atol Atol is a new project featuring seasoned musicians who are already well-established fixtures in the Polish alternative scene. \u0141ukasz Plata (UZS \u2013 Ukryte Zalety Systemu, Przepych), Artur Soszy\u0144ski (UZS \u2013 Ukryte Zalety Systemu), and Hubert Kostkiewicz (Kurws), joined by vocalist Agata Horwat, have formed an ensemble that explores post-punk territories. The musicians themselves describe their sound as “basement funk and dub-drenched no-wave.” Atol Atol Atol\u2019s debut album, Koniec sosu tysi\u0105ca wysp (The End of Thousand Island Dressing), was released in autumn 2022 via Gusstaff Records. <\/p>\n

“On exactly 4 May 1998, Janusz Mucha from Zielona G\u00f3ra registered a business under the name Gusstaff Records, and he continues to run it under that same banner today. While that was the official beginning, the story started much earlier. It began, naturally, with the passion of an alternative music fan. Driven by this obsession, Mucha became a contributor to the zine Korek, published in Wo\u0142\u00f3w from late 1991. He didn’t just write about music; he took his first steps as a publisher there, preparing a cassette compilation of bands from the US and Germany to accompany the magazine. These were the days when obtaining an artist’s permission required writing physical letters. It worked, and from 1996, Mucha and his friend\u2014Korek editor Igor Pietrzykowski\u2014began releasing licensed tapes under the Korek\/Gusstaff imprint.” <\/p>\n
