SIKSA (meaning “girl” in Yiddish, often used pejoratively) reclaims the term, transforming it into a symbol of feminist power. The duo’s minimalist approach, using voice, bass, text, and body, creates a powerful and distinctive artistic expression. Drawing inspiration from childhood memories, folklore, and their own raw perspective on reality, Siksa’s work blends the personal and the political, giving voice to the unspoken.
SIKSA has played more than 400 concerts throughout Europe, Turkey and the Caucasus from small clubs and squats to contemporary art galleries and major European festivals.
“Grande Donna Freiheit & Her Spiders from the Squat” promises to be another unmissable and genre-defying performance.
“SIKSA’s Grande Donna Freiheit & Her Spiders from the Squat is the most insignificant and unnecessary story ever told”
