Warsaw Afrobeat Orchestra is an unconventional ensemble, and not just because their debut album, Wëndelu, was released by a prestigious American label, or because their tracks are spun on the BBC by the legendary DJ Gilles Peterson. It is rare to find an orchestra that so uniquely bridges the worlds of afrobeat, reggae, dub, funk, rock, jazz, and world music.

Composed of seasoned musicians and three vocalists, the group is a vibrant, dance-fueled melting pot that makes it impossible for the audience to stand still. The members of WAO bring a wealth of experience from other notable projects, including Village Kollektiv, Żywiołak, and Elvis Deluxe. In Lublin, they will perform their latest material in a special premiere set.
