Tymon Tymański & Different Sounds Orchestra | POL/USA
ABOUT
Tymon Tymański takes a bold and unconventional turn at this year’s Different Sounds Art’n’Music Festival, unveiling a premiere project with a strikingly unique lineup.
The concert is anchored by a concise and poignant motto proposed by the artist: “War is Obsolete.” This performance serves as a vital retrospective of Eastern Europe’s vast cultural heritage, reminding us that dialogue and peace must always prevail over senseless force. Under Tymański’s direction, the Different Sounds Orchestra will explore a wide-reaching repertoire of anti-war, anti-establishment, and pacifist anthems, bridging the voices of Poland with those of our eastern neighbors.
The setlist spans generations, moving from the timeless soul of Bulat Okudzhava and Vladimir Vysotsky to the contemporary energy of 5’nizza and Kino. To bring these reimagined tracks to life, Tymański is joined by an elite circle of guests: Ania Rusowicz, one of the most powerful voices in modern Polish music; Natalia Pikuła, of the brilliant ensemble Drekoty; underground legend Olaf Deriglasoff; and Daniel Hertzov, an American-Russian songwriter and a true connoisseur of Eastern poetry.
With conflict erupting once again on our very doorstep, this concert transcends mere performance to become an urgent artistic statement. John Lennon’s immortal maxim, “War is over if you want it,” has rarely felt more relevant. In a world weary of division, music remains a universal language of unity—and Different Sounds is the perfect stage for that message to resonate.
