The Lazy Jesus presents UA Tribal is a multi-sensory music and visual project by Ukrainian producer, musician, and DJ Ehor Havrylenko, better known as The Lazy Jesus. In his UA Tribal iteration, he weaves diverse rhythms and beats together with Ukrainian folklore. His sets focus primarily on exploring ethnic music—drawing from Ukraine as well as various global traditions—which serves as the foundation for his compelling brand of dance music.
As a DJ, Ehor has performed in Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, Vilnius, and Bali. In Ukraine, he is a resident at Kyiv’s HVLV club and serves as a music editor for the renowned Ukrainian label Masterskaya. Before launching his solo career, he was an active figure in the Kyiv indie and pop scenes, performing as a bassist and keyboardist for numerous bands.
In 2021, he was named “Sound Producer of the Year” at the RAP UA AWARDS. Since 2022, Ehor has been showcasing his UA selection on European stages, introducing audiences to independent Ukrainian electronic artists who continue to create music amidst the ongoing war. Two of his curated selections have been featured on radio stations in Vilnius and Munich.
