Pablopavo i Ludziki | POL
ABOUT
Paweł Sołtys, also widely known to the public as Pablopavo, is a singular figure in the landscape of Polish culture. A recipient of the prestigious Polityka Passport and the Marek Nowakowski Literary Prize, he is currently ranked among the country’s most creative and prolific artists. He seamlessly balances his literary career—highlighted by the acclaimed short story collection Mikrotyki and the equally compelling Nieradość—with a relentless musical output through formations such as Vavamuffin, Zjednoczenie Soundsystem, and Pablopavo i Ludziki.
It was with the latter ensemble that he graced the Different Sounds stage this July. Their latest album, Mozaika (Mosaic), was released this spring and, true to the band’s promise, represents a further evolution in their sonic explorations.
“The three years that have passed since the release of Marginal have not been easy for anyone—neither for the players nor the listeners,” Pablopavo says of the record. “This album is partly about that, but also about the things that help us endure the toughest moments.”
In addition to debuting new material, the concert featured a selection of well-loved hits from their previous albums, including Telehon, Polor, and Ladinola.
