Nanga | POL
ABOUT
When the Polish supergroup Lao Che announced their hiatus, many fans struggled to accept the news, wondering what their favourite musicians would do next. As it quickly became clear, nature abhors a vacuum, and artists of this calibre had no intention of staying idle. Following last year’s performance by Spięty, it is now time for Nanga to visit Lublin.
The band was founded by Filip Różański (keyboards in Lao Che) and Maciej Dzierżanowski (percussion). Taking the lead on vocals is Magda Dubrowska, known for her work with Utrata Skład and Gang Śródmieście. For their live performances, they are joined by saxophonist Karol Gola, whose impressive pedigree includes stints with both Lao Che and Pink Freud.
Nanga’s music is built on a synthesis of electronic textures—generated by samplers and other devices—blended with live instrumentation and Dubrowska’s distinctive vocal delivery. The result is rounded off by compelling, thought-provoking lyrics and modern, sophisticated arrangements.
