Mouse on Mars | DEU
ABOUT
One of the legends and greatest icons of the German electronic scene, Mouse on Mars has been setting the tone and direction of the genre for nearly 30 years. In 1993, two childhood friends—Andi Toma and Jan St. Werner—launched the project under its intriguing moniker. Since then, they have fluidly leaped between styles, experimenting with techno, IDM, ambient, alternative rock, and dance electronics, as well as contemporary classical and krautrock.
Each of these ventures has brought something fresh to their sound, cementing their reputation as leading representatives of the European avant-garde electronic scene. Over the years, the artists have masterfully blended electronic and synthetic textures with live instrumentation, incorporating brass, strings, and percussion. Their projects have utilised both live musicians and Artificial Intelligence. The group is also no stranger to high-profile collaborations, most notably their studio and live work with fellow legends Stereolab.
