Ladytron | GBR
ABOUT
Ladytron—legends of the British electronic scene—masterfully blend pop, synth-wave, and shoegaze with avant-garde sonic experimentation. The band’s line-up remains unchanged since its inception: Helen Marnie (vocals, synthesizers), Mira Aroyo (vocals, synthesizers), Daniel Hunt (synthesizers, electric guitar, vocals), and Reuben Wu (synthesizers). The group is a rare example of how to intelligently fuse mainstream appeal with restless, artistic exploration.
Founded in 1999 in Liverpool, the band’s name is a direct tribute to a hit by Roxy Music, one of their primary inspirations. Indeed, Brian Eno himself once described Ladytron as his favourite and “the best British pop band.” They received a similar endorsement from Trent Reznor, who invited them to open for Nine Inch Nails on their 2007 European tour. Successful tours alongside Björk and Goldfrapp further cemented their international status. Over the years, the band has recorded seven studio albums, the latest of which—the critically acclaimed Time’s Arrow—was released just a few months ago. Their performance in Lublin will feature material from this new record, alongside the iconic hits that have defined their twenty-year career.
