Gromyka | RUS
ABOUT
An absolute revelation of the Russian scene from the past few years, Gromyka is a phenomenon unto itself. Through their name and visual identity, the band leans into the aesthetics of the Soviet era—referencing Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko and adopting a grotesque styling reminiscent of Brezhnev’s political cabinet.
Hailing from Karelia, these artists have developed their own signature style, which they dub “heavy psychedelic twist.” Audiences can expect a surreal collision of Italo disco, Russian estrada, and garage rock, anchored by stentorian vocals that sound as if they are echoing from a party tribune. This is all layered with the futuristic chirps of the stylophone and old-school signal generators.
