MU – ONLINE
ABOUT
Within the world of Polish alternative culture, Tymon Tymański is a true one-man institution. A musician, composer, producer, writer, columnist, and filmmaker, he is an artist famously possessed by a creative restlessness. His accolades include the Polish Film Award (Orły) for his score to Wojciech Smarzowski’s The Wedding, as well as the Audience Award at the Gdynia Film Festival for his film Polskie gówno.
Tymański was a co-creator of such loud artistic phenomena as Totart and the Yass movement, and has led countless seminal bands, most notably Miłość and Kury. In 2015, commissioned specifically by the Rise of Eastern Culture – Different Sounds festival, he premiered his anti-war manifesto concert, War is Obsolete, in Lublin.
Now, he returns with a new, ambitious, and enigmatic project named MU. A fusion of post-rock, jazz, synth-pop, and electronics, MU sees Tymon joined by his long-time guitarist and co-producer Marcin Gałązka, alongside the brightest talents of the contemporary Tricity scene: Michał Wandzilak, Jacek Próściński, and Michał Jan Ciesielski.
