Atari Teenage Riot | DEU
ABOUT
Atari Teenage Riot is a band founded by Alec Empire in the early 1990s, during the era of transformation in Berlin. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, the alternative scene of the time received a massive injection of new possibilities and energy. This creative, historical turning point gave life to many original projects and artistic movements. One such phenomenon was Atari Teenage Riot—then performing as a trio consisting of Hanin Elias, Carl Crack, and the aforementioned Alec Empire.
By the time they released the 1997 album Burn, Berlin, Burn!, Atari Teenage Riot had already achieved underground legend status, touring the world alongside the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Beck, and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. In 2001, the band reached a tragic turning point with the death of Carl Crack, leading to a hiatus. After years away—during which the remaining members focused on solo careers—Atari Teenage Riot returned in 2010 with a new vocalist, CX Kidtronik.
As Alec Empire himself says today, the mission of Atari Teenage Riot is to constantly search for a modern musical language while delivering a message that is both relevant and vital to the audience. In Lublin, at Different Sounds, we can expect a true explosion of sound, visuals, and intense emotion.
