Fågelle | SWE

ABOUT

A Swedish artist emerging from the Nordic experimental music scene, Fågelle is renowned for her unique ability to blend guitar, powerful vocals, and electronics in an organic and wildly expressive manner. Utilising effects, synthesisers, and samplers, she immerses herself in sonic experimentation, seeking the precise point where sound and poetry meet to create fascinating compositions suspended somewhere between sound art and pop.
Her sonic world is all-encompassing, incorporating everything from field recordings of bustling subways to roaring guitars and tormented synths. The result is a fierce collision of lyrical beauty and unbridled, raw expression. In 2019, alongside producer and collaborator Henryk Lipp (Blue for Two, Anna von Hausswolff, Union Carbide), Fågelle recorded and produced her debut album, Helvetesdagar. The record was hailed by the Swedish magazine Gaffa as “uncompromising, honest, brave, and masterful.”

Keychange

Keychange is a pioneering international initiative dedicated to gender equality in the music industry. Each year, as part of its talent development programme, it selects a new cohort of female and gender-expansive artists and industry professionals from 12 different countries. These individuals go on to lead this global movement within their respective nations and professional circles.
This year, from a pool of 590 applicants, industry experts selected 76 new faces to participate in the year-long professional support programme. Through the Different Sounds festival’s partnership with the network, Lublin will host three musical projects and three industry innovators between 7–10 July 2022, all participating in the educational branch of the event.
