ABOUT
Anushka Chkheidze is a rising star of electronic music from Georgia. She spent her childhood in Kharagauli, where she attended music school and sang folk songs in a youth ensemble; by the age of 11, she was already performing in a small village chapel. The influence of those early years is palpable in her original compositions, which she masterfully weaves together with ambient and classical music.
Beyond her solo work, she is an accomplished composer for film and theatre. Her 2020 debut album, Halfie, won the Tsinandali Prize and was nominated by IMPALA for European Independent Album of the Year 2020. Shortly thereafter, Anushka returned with her second “pandemic album,” Move 20-21, which she describes as a journey of the mind through space and time, achieved without any physical movement.
