Daniel Spaleniak | POL
ABOUT
Currently one of the most compelling artists on the Polish music scene, Daniel Spaleniak consistently defies simple classification. For several years, he has successfully carved out his own distinct path, moving between illustrative and instrumental scores as well as his own songs—deeply rooted in the territories of blues, folk, and rock.
Spaleniak has released four albums to date, all under the Antena Krzyku banner. To many fans, he is also widely recognised as the creator of stellar soundtracks and individual pieces featured in major productions for the likes of Netflix, CBS, Hulu, and TNT.
ANTENA KRZYKU
A significant portion of this year’s programme is dedicated to a showcase of Antena Krzyku—a label founded in 1984 by Arek Marczyński, focusing on the broad spectrum of independent music. Over the last 35 years, Antena has become an absolute cult institution, gaining renown and recognition both in Poland and internationally. Indeed, this internationalism is a cornerstone of the label’s identity; beyond releasing key artists from the Polish alternative scene, their catalogue is filled with high-profile names from the European and North American scenes.
The primary genres explored by Antena Krzyku include punk, post-punk, avant-garde, post-rock, electronics, and noise, occasionally veering into jazz. Throughout its long and multifaceted history, the label has also published its own magazine, organised concert tours, and regularly spearheaded new musical and cultural phenomena.
As part of this special showcase, the festival will feature a meeting with the label’s founders and associated artists, alongside an exhibition of posters and album cover art. Musically, the programme will present a wide spectrum of the talent currently gathered under the Antena Krzyku banner.
