One of the leading figures of the German electronic scene, Barbara Morgenstern was for many years associated with the iconic Monika Enterprise label, headed by Gudrun Gut (the producer and artist known for the original line-up of Einstürzende Neubauten). With ten solo albums to her name, Morgenstern has also collaborated extensively with other luminaries, including Robert Wyatt, Stefan Schneider, and Julia Kent.
She is renowned for her restless artistic and stylistic exploration, seamlessly blending musical genres and experimenting with sound. Over the years, she has approached electronics, synth-pop, and remixing, as well as folk and singer-songwriter traditions, in a highly original and creative manner. A singer, composer, pianist, and guitarist, she constantly expands her artistic horizons, aligning perfectly with the Different Sounds ethos of stylistic boundary-crossing.
