Trzaska & Klezmer Orchestra | POL
ABOUT
Mikołaj Trzaska is arguably one of the most hardworking artists in Poland, and undoubtedly one of its most gifted. A key figure emerging from the Tricity yass scene and a co-founder of the seminal groups Miłość and Łoskot, he is a master improviser, composer, saxophonist, and clarinetist.
For many years, Trzaska has maintained a close creative partnership with director Wojciech Smarzowski, composing the scores for acclaimed films such as The Dark House (Dom Zły), Rose (Róża), Traffic Department (Drogówka), and The Mighty Angel (Pod mocnym aniołem). Their latest collaboration is the soundtrack for the film Volhynia (Wołyń), which will be performed on the closing night of the Different Sounds Festival.
For this project, Trzaska invited the one-of-a-kind Klezmer Orchestra. Their interpretation of Volhynia is deeply moving and unsettling, prompting reflection while carrying a powerful charge of authentic Borderlands beauty—all filtered through Trzaska’s unique artistic sensitivity.
