A unique fusion of two distinct duos—one percussion and one piano—Kwadrofonik is a phenomenon whose artistry was formally recognized with the prestigious “Paszporty Polityki” award in 2015. They are at once one of Poland’s finest “cultural exports” and a collective that continuously carves out new paths within the domestic music scene.
Rooted in classical traditions yet fearless in their experimentation, the group boldly reimagines folk music and embraces free improvisation. Perhaps most significantly, they are known for their frequent and often unexpected collaborations, such as their recent work with Adam Strug on the Folk Requiem project. Today, Kwadrofonik is a class of its own—the perfect choice to kick off the Different Sounds Festival.
