Aksak – Kranemann/ Mertin/ Suchy | DEU
ABOUT
The Aksak project is built on the artistic concept of a generational summit, bringing together three formidable musical personalities. Representing the vanguard of the elder generation is Eberhard Kranemann, a legendary figure of the German avant-garde for over 50 years. A multi-instrumentalist (mastering cello, bass, Hawaiian guitar, and electronics) and a distinguished visual artist, Kranemann is best known for his pivotal role in Kraftwerk from 1967 to 1971, as well as his participation in the equally influential group NEU!.
His career is further defined by his long-standing solo project and stage alter ego, Fritz Müller. Beyond his band work, Kranemann’s portfolio includes countless international exhibitions and installations, alongside collaborations with such icons as David Bowie, Brian Eno, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson, John Zorn, and Philip Glass, as well as the Kronos Quartet and Faust.
Completing the trio are two exceptional musicians: Holger Mertin, a master of percussion who utilizes everything from gongs and cymbals to modulators to weave fascinating sonic tapestries; and the virtuosic guitarist Joseph Suchy. Together, they create live performances that are nothing short of hypnotic.
